Yes. Buena Vista is a lakefront cottage directly on Maple Lake, with private waterfront access and a PVC non-slip dock. Guests can enjoy swimming, paddling (we have a canoe, 2 kayaks and pedal boat), fishing and beautiful lake views right from the property.
No. Laundry facilities are not available for guest use, so please plan accordingly for your stay.
The waterfront has a shallow entry and silt bottom, so water shoes are strongly recommended. Water at the end of the dock is typically 4–5 feet deep, depending on lake levels. No diving from the dock.
Yes. We welcome one dog per stay. Guests travelling with a dog are asked to follow our pet and property rules during their visit.

Buena Vista is located in Algonquin Highlands, about 15 minutes from both Haliburton and Minden and just 5 minutes from Carnarvon, while still offering a quiet lakefront setting.
During high season, check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. sharp. During low season, we may be able to offer more flexibility—just ask.

Buena Vista uses a septic system. Only toilet paper and human waste may be flushed. Sanitary products and all types of wipes, including “flushable” wipes, must never be flushed. Doing so can trigger the septic alarm and may make all bathrooms and the kitchen unusable until a plumber can resolve the issue.
Outdoor and seasonal amenities are closed after Thanksgiving weekend until May 1. Please review the property details for your travel dates or contact us if there is a particular amenity that is important to your stay.
